The MAAY Foundation is heavily involved with a number of efforts to increase language access throughout Missouri through testimony at public hearings and education of government officials. Results include getting the state of Missouri to pay for Chinese and Spanish language ads for the 2020 Census, and a nationwide civil rights complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services over lack of language access and Covid.
As a founding co-Chair of ECORN-Missouri, an effort by immigrant communities to address the opioid crisis, MAAY has successfully worked with best in field experts to create translations of opioid prevention and education materials in 13 languages.
We also strive to provide election information and materials in as many of the languages spoken by our community as we can.
